TO ATTEND IN-PERSON
Most meetings are held in the DeWitt Blank Conference Room of the District Administration Office, 702 Warrendale Road, Gibsonia. The administration offices are behind the high school and use a separate entrance from the school. Occasionally, if high attendance is expected, meetings are moved to a different location, like a school auditorium. To be sure, check this district page or the Together for PR homepage on the day of a school board meeting.
Outside the meeting room, you'll see a table with multiple forms just outside the meeting room. All attendees should sign one of the Attendance forms. [Note: there are also forms for speaking, so read the headings carefully!]
No signs are permitted inside the meeting room.
VIEW MEETING BY LIVESTREAM
Provide your email, name, and address on this form. You will receive a link to view the meeting.
You do not have to have a child currently attending PR in order to view the meeting.
Speak
Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. The Board president will alert you when your time is about to run out.
The board asks that speakers not refer directly to any individual board member.
Only residents of Pine and Richland or non-resident guardians of a current PR student are permitted to speak.
The board limits total speaking time at the beginning of the meeting to 1 hour. In rare cases, some "beginning" speakers must wait until the end of the meeting to talk, but they will be next in line to speak.
NOTE: Speaking time is for the board to hear comments. They will not discuss or respond to your comments. The PR website says the board will respond to speakers via email, but this has not been the case.
TO SPEAK IN-PERSON
Add your name to the speaker list (s) of your choice — to speak at the beginning or end of the meeting or both.
The Board Secretary will pick up the list of early speakers at the start of the meeting, so if you want to speak at the beginning, you should plan to arrive before 7 p.m. to get your name on the list.
The Board will start with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Student Recognition, then Recognition of Visitors. When the Board Secretary calls your name, move to the microphone and state your name and address (and student ages if you'd like) before beginning your comment.
TO SPEAK BY PHONE
Fill out the form for viewing the meeting online, include your phone number, and check the appropriate box under "Would you like to address the board?"
Be ready to answer your phone when you receive a call from the Board Secretary.
